We are situated in one of the main streets leading out of Hugh Town. We are a short level walk from all the amenities of town, including the quay, shops, restaurants, beaches and coastal paths. There is a shallow step into the house and a step between the rooms at the front and those at the back of the house. The accommodation is on two floors with two bedrooms on the ground floor and four on the first floor. Rooms and hallways are typical of cottage proportions and are not suitable for wheelchair users.
We are located approximately 500 meters from the quay.
Airport buses drop off outside the door and pick up from a point 75 meters level walk from the front door.
The community bus stops 50 meters from the front door.
There are several taxis on St. Mary’s.
We have a cat and therefore regret that we are unable to accommodate dogs (or any other animals).

Arrival and Car Parking
Please advise us of your mode of transport from the mainland (i.e. plane, helicopter or the ferry), departure point and departure time so that we can ensure we are here to welcome you.
If you are travelling by plane, all flights are met by Paulger’s Passenger Transport (01 720 423701)
If you are travelling by helicopter, all flights are met by Woodcock’s Bus Services (01 720 422397)
If you are travelling by ferry, you can book a local taxi in advance.
Cars are not normally brought to the islands.
We aim to have your room ready by 11.30 a.m.. If you are arriving early, we are happy to hold your luggage and you may use the sitting room.
We offer assistance with luggage.
There is one shallow step to the front door.
The front door is normally unlocked but please ring on your arrival.
The hallway leading to the dining room is long and, in places, narrow and there is one step. The hallways are carpeted. There are 12 stairs which turn at the top leading to the first floor. There is a handrail to one side. The stairs are carpeted.
There is a payphone in the front hall for the use of guests.
There is a downstairs WC next to the dining room which can be made available for early arrivals/late departures when the bedroom is being prepared.
We have two bedrooms on the ground floor (please see section “Bedrooms” for more information).
The house is centrally heated but the heaters can be adjusted in each room to suit individual requirements.
Guests are welcome to use the sitting room at any time.
The sitting room has two two-seater sofas and two arm chairs. This room has a TV and radio.
The sitting room is carpeted and, as well as central heating, there is an electric fire for additional heat if required.
A selection of local information, reading books and board-games are available in the sitting room and from the bookshelves in the hall.
Breakfast is served in the dining room between 08.30 a.m. and 09.00 a.m. daily.
The dining room is carpeted.
We do not provide evening meals and are not licensed.
Bedrooms 1 is on the ground floor and has two 3 foot single beds, one of which is accessed from one side only.
Bedroom 2 is on the ground floor and has two 3 foot single beds which can be accessed from all sides.
Bedroom 3 is on the first floor and has a 5 foot double bed with access to both sides.
Bedroom 4 is on the first floor and has two 3 foot single beds, one of which is accessed from one side only.
Bedroom 5 is on the first floor and has a 5 foot double bed with access to both sides.
Bedroom 6 is on the first floor and has two 3 foot single beds, one of which is accessed from one side only.
All bedrooms are on a timed central heating system. Timings can be adjusted if required.
All bedrooms are carpeted throughout.
All the rooms have ensuite shower and WC. The vanitory washbasin is in the bedroom.
Tea and coffee facilities are provided.
There is a TV, clock radio alarm, torch and hairdryer in every room.
All beds are made with synthetic duvets and feather pillows. Synthetic pillows are available on request.
There is a wardrobe, chest of drawers, two bedside cabinets and two seats in every room.
There is a folder in each room providing further information about the house and breakfast arrangements.
Grounds and Gardens
There is no garden available to guests.
There is a fire extinguisher in both the upstairs and the downstairs ahllway by the guest rooms.
In the event of a fire the alarms will activate. Please advise us if you have a serious hearing impairment and might not hear this. Please evacuate the building by the front door and assemble in the street.
We are a totally non-smoking establishment.
We are happy to cater for most special diets. Please note that as we are on an island we may have difficulty obtaining special food. Please advise us of your requirements prior to booking.
Mobile phone reception is patchy on the islands. Vodaphone and O2 have the best coverage. Please check with your mobile provider. There is a payphone in the front hall for the use of guests.
We are happy to refrigerate any medication or other perishables.
